OK, now seriously, folks ...
I'm not going to get too worked up about the weather guess-cast just yet. I'll look closer the night before and then the radar image Saturday morning.
I'd like to hear who is planning on making this ride on Saturday. As I mentioned at the
meeting Monday, I would really like to get this ride in - even with threat of showers. If, like the last time, the radar looks ugly to the south over the route, then we'll ride north ... or east. The route wouldn't be pre-ridden and maybe we "wing it" for lunch, but the ride wouldn't be cancelled.
It was suggested to possibly adjust the start time if it looks like this might avoid early (or late) bad weather. Thinking about this, I think that could be tough. A change the morning of the ride is not enough time to react for riders coming, sometimes, over an hour to the meeting place. A change made the evening before based on the hourly forecast - I'm just not sure about. At any rate, let me know if you can be flexible an hour or two either way - and how much notice you'd need.
(For Bob, I think he heads north sometime Friday evening or so.
Bob, bring an umbrella and a pillow - we'll see you at the Holiday station.
)
Lunch will be an hour into the ride. If we would move it up, maybe we'd have burgers for brunch.
