Memorial Day ride 2010
« on: December 19, 2009, 10:56:44 AM »
Just a suggestion at this point, but thought we might like to assemble the troops this Memorial Day and ride to a memorial in Rochester, MN.  Below is the link to the memorial.  Take a look and we will discuss it at future meetings.  I of course would lead this ride, being the 444 Star Chapter Vet rep.   (I know, a scary thought)

That would be cool.  A nice change from our usually in town/around town trip.

Here is another thought for our Vets Rep.  How about a "Ride within a Ride".  We are making a trip to Hansen's Hold Up in Arcadia, WI an annual event.  Debbie and I went to the Veterans Memorial Park down in Arcadia on one of our trips there.  It would be a short ride down the hill into town.  Here is a link -

It is one of the most complete memorials I've seen.  It honors every war and conflict in our history.  Very moving.  Well worth an extra hour or so to visit.

Sound like a plan. Have you been there before Wolf? We can find a spot to meet up and leave early morning make a day of it. And anyone else who would like to join us is more than welcome.

That sounds like a long day but a good one. If Charm gets her long distance stamina up and her licence we might go.

If you folks end up at Hanson's Hideout let me know.  I'm only about 40 miles away from there.  Maybe we could meet up with the two Chapters.
Also, the park in Arcadia is really worth the trip.  And your close from Hanson's Hideout.  I don't know exactly how many miles you have gone if you get to Hanson's Hideout but here is another destination.  Another 60 miles maybe is the Highgrounds in Neilsville.  Another Veterans memorial park.  Great place.
If interested in meeting send me an e-mail.  My address is LoneEagle44mag@aol.com
I'll try and get back to your forum to visit but seems I don't have enough time sometimes.
