Hey all;
I have a friend asking about the Scala G4.  How do you control the number of people on the network?  Can you select a frequency or channel similar to CB?

Thanks

We don't have the G4 but we have used our compatible Scala Rider Q2 quite a bit since February when we bought the Q2 Multiset.  (The last 250 miles were in the rain :-\ as we rode back from northern Wisconsin on Tuesday!)  The connection is less like a CB and more like pairing a cell phone with a bluetooth headset.  The Q2 allows communication between up to three units while the G4 allows up to four and has a longer range, basically.

We purchased Scala G4 units.  Working on getting them installed into the helmets.  I should have that complete by next weekend!  They are an awesome product.

Everyone on the April 14th ride of chapter 423 had a bluetooth device, cool :P

Unfortunately, no one could get their device to communicate to anything  ???

Of course, no one had an owners manual. When all else fails; read directions.

Soooo, it was suggested by 423's F.L.
that we get together for an evening of techno fun. Bring your bluetooths (blueteeth?), Directions (aka: Users Guide), and let's sit down to get these things connected. Our very own Professional Tech, Dingy, was and will be a great interpreter of techno lingo.

**Please reply to this post with your preferred dates and times.**

Even if you don't have a bluetooth device you are welcomed to come and scope them out. You might find something you like!

All chapters are welcomed. We will be having this seminar somewhere in the St. Cloud area.
Details will follow once a date and time consensus has been arrived at.

Excellent idea.  Not sure if I will be able to attend, but I applaud you on the intention of all of this.

BTW, usually when things get out of control with me and technical stuff (which happens a lot at my age), I employ my young daughters to help.  Seems these young minds have no problem with figuring out this technical stuff.   :P

Great idea, Ted - I'm in!  Before our Aug 2010 Canada trip we had to all sit down and deliberately get the syncing and power up sequences down for our G4s.  This really paid off with nearly incident-less communications for four bikes over several days.  Clear and continuous communication made for a much safer and enjoyable trip with four sets of eyes looking out for each other.  Plus just being able to talk about each days ride during, instead of after, the ride made for a great trip.  Sheesh - sorry to sound like a commercial there! :-\

I had borrowed a G4 for the trip as Kathy and I still have the Scala Q2s.  I'm not sure if I remember the process we used, but I'm always up for a tech challenge.  Not sure what to suggest for a date/time; I can be flexible...

Where is a good place to buy them and how much are they?
Susanne and I are very interested to get them for our trip to Star Days!
