For several years in a row, members of #292 have been spending a weekend in Hillsboro, WI and riding the beautiful roads of the bluffs near LaCrosse, WI.  We would love to have members of the other Minnesota chapters join us this year.  Some of us have already made plans to stay at the Hotel Hillsboro on Thursday, June 28 - Saturday, June 30, returning to the TC on Sunday. Number for reservations are 608-489-3000

The Hotel Hillsboro is a terrific hotel, and has an attached bar & grill (Beezers) that we have thoroughly enjoyed.  Join us for as many days as you can, and if you are interested reserve your rooms soon.  The hotel isn't an overly large one, and it is popular with wedding parties, bicyclists, motorcyclists, and canoers in the summer time.  Remember, if necessary you could always cancel your reservation later.  If you have any questions, ask a member of #292; most of us have been there at least once.

Will there be any groups coming down for a day?  Maybe get an early start from the cities?  Or do you think that would be to much?  i don't think we can spend the entire weekend.

A ride to Hillsboro would make a nice long day trip, but you wouldn't have much time to spend in the area.  It would make a better overnight trip so you would have some time to spend riding the beautiful roads in the area.

Mmmm, Hillsboro and Door County - that's a nice bike trip, Bear!   We haven't ridden enough of the Hillsboro area and would like to do more.  We rode through after staying in Richland Center (to the south) and it is a nice area to ride.  Unfortunately, Kathy and I are just getting back from another trip that weekend so we'll have to make it another time.  Anyone else thinking about it ...  I know 292 has been there a few times so they should know the routes well!

I was also considering Friday - Sunday.  Maybe a small group could head over on Friday and then return on Sunday with everyone else.

Armando and I love riding the two lane WI roads south and east of La Crosse.  We'll talk about joining this gig and will RSVP accordingly.  :D

If anyone from 444 is planing on going to Hillsboro and riding down with 292 we will be meeting in Golden Valley at the BP just west of Hwy 169 on Hwy 55. Some will be meeting for breakfast at the Perkins at 7:45am. The Perkins is just down the block from the BP Gas Station. If you do not feel like driving across the cities at that time of the day we will be meeting a few 292 members at the Point by Hastings at 10:00am. Even if you are not planing on going on the trip to Hillsboro, come join us for breakfast, or stop by the Point and see us off for the weekend. Remember to bring the sunscreen, also remember to bring a swimming suit as the hotel has a nice pool, that will feel nice after a warm day of riding the hills of southern Wisconsin. If you are planning on riding with 292 to Hillsboro please go to the 292 Forum and add your name to the list of folks going and where you will be meeting the group.

Thanks Jerry

I have volunteered to lead the group to Pepin.

How does kickstands up at 9:00AM at the BP station at Hwys 55 & 169 sound?  We'll be behind traffic, you can grab breakfast at Perkins if you want, and we should still be in Hillsboro by mid-to-late afternoon.

I plan on WI 35 south to Nelson, and taking some different roads from there.  It is supposed to be hot by Thursday, so be thinking about whether or not you want to meander versus more of a straight shot.

I planned on our first stop at the BP in Pepin.  We can top off gas there and we should be good to go for fuel all the way to Hillsboro.  Is anybody interested in leading to Pepin so I can concentrate on the remainder of the route?

Lastly, so we don't leave without anybody, is this a complete list?  Please let us know if you aren't on the list and are going, or are on the list and won't be going.

Cindy and I were in Madison Wis. today and passed your group as you turned off of 33. We were going in the other direction on our way home. Hope you all had a great time sorry we missed you.
