This Sunday 10/10/10 ;)
« on: October 05, 2010, 04:15:38 PM »
I haven't been very available this year.  Way too busy.  We are baby sitting a grandaughter all this week through Sunday.  However, Debbie says I can lead a ride on Sunday if it's still this nice out.  I thought since the Snitzel run is Saturday, I would try a short one on Sunday.

I have two choices.  We can do the 30mph parkway cruise on the "Grand Rounds" through Minneapolis (http://www.minneapolisparks.org/grandrounds/home.htm), or we could make a fall color run down to Henderson on my Western Cruise route through Hanover, Rockford, Delano, Watertown, Waconia, Chaska, and Henderson.

Let me know this week what your preference is and we'll watch the weather and plan a run.

Chappy I will try and make this one but can't say for sure. I have an agreement to only ride one day per weekend? Might talk her in to going? Then again it might be to hot , to cold, to dry, to wet, to long, to short  or something??? Let me know start point and time I will do my best.

If nobody speaks a preference, I could do the parkway cruise.  A 30mph putz ride on the prettiest streets in Minneapolis might be very pleasing to her.  And easy on her.

Hey Chappy, I vote for the putz ride around Minneapolis.  Just let us know where to meet.  Sounds like a good place to bring out the chopper again.

We'll be "celebrating" 10/10/10 riding back from southern Wisconsin after the Schnitzel run.  We can certainly recommend the parkway cruise; Duane led a great ride last August!

I'd be up for the putz Grand Round tour.  I may even be able to talk Jessie and the girls into this one.

Here is a link to the parkway cruise route.  It's a short ride takes about 2 hours at a leisurely 30mph putz.  We'll stop for some refreshments in Dinkytown by the UofM at the end of the ride.  This will be a FAIR WEATHER ride.  If it's raining, I'll post the cancelation around 11:30.

We will meet at Ridgeway Parkway Park just off Industrial Blvd and 35W.  Exit Industrial Blvd, turn north (right) and take an immediate left on Ridgeway Parkway.  There is a scenic overlook of downtown Minneapolis just up the hill on the left.  We will meet there at 12:30 after lunch with kickstands up at 1:00pm so it will be a little warmer and more comfortable.  We'll make a "comfort" stop around the mid-point of the ride.  Any questions you can give me a call at 651-280-8915 cell.

I should have posted a reminder that 35W is closed at 694.  If you are coming from the east, come in on Hwy 36.  I drove the end of the routeat the UofM today, and my final road is closed going into Dinkytown.  So the end point is still up in the air.  I guess we'll know where we are going when we get there, wherever there ends up being.

Yea, thanks Chappy for a good ride.  Beautiful fall colors and some "old" money houses.  The other scenery wasn't bad either.... if you know what I mean.

Remember, it is not the size of the kick stand that matters.....  ;-)
