Gooseberry Falls State Park overnight Ride
« on: January 10, 2011, 01:34:09 PM »
How many would like to do a overnight camp out to this area and ride the beautiful hwy. 61 north shore Route?  If enough people are interested I will start planning, we would avoid Major highways were possible on the way there.

Certainly interested ... it just comes down to what goes on the bike's back seat: ??? camping gear or Kathy??   ;) Might have to look at trailers at the IMS again this year.

If it were a place to get a bed OK but we do not own any camping gear anymore. sold it all when we bought the 40 ft camper. So I guess we would be a no.

I'm interested.
There's a motel a little north (Silver Bay area) right on 61 that I stayed at a few years back.  Nothing fancy.  In fact, VERY simple.  But it was inexpensive the last time I was there.

Anyone planning on camping at Gooseberry should make a reservation soon, as people can make reservations up to one year in advance.

Very good point, Rich; Gooseberry is a very popular park.  Tettegouche State Park is about 20 miles further north and is also nice (just in case).

Sounds like camping could be in order for the pre-ride, Jimbo.  Let's wait a few weeks, though ...  ;D ;D  I don't have tire chains for the bike.  :o ;) ;D

It's not the cold hard ground I'm worried about... my snoring would keep everyone awake from Duluth to Grand Marais   :-[  :-[  :-[

people, people, by then it will be warm soft ground, it itsn't like we are doing it today.
the weather will be warmer and you may even get a bear, a wolf, a fox, or even a squirrel to climb into your blanket to help keep you warm and comfy.  ;) ;D :D  :)
