Veterans Memorial Ride
« on: February 27, 2011, 09:45:14 AM »
The Memorial weekend ride will be going to the Arcadia, WI Veterans Memorial Park.  It will be on Sunday May 29th.

Meet at "The Point" (Hwy 61 and Hwy 10) at 9:00am, kickstands up at 9:30am.

Chappy will lead this ride for us.  I will provide another "reading" at the memorial park.

http://www.arcadiawi.org/RS/Attractions/MemorialPark.php

This ride will take place rain or shine because our veterans didn't worry about the weather and neither shall we.

Ok, here is the route:
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0&hl=en&ie=UTF8&msid=217200778049086057964.0004a3988ce2c07726a33&ll=44.750634,-92.801514&spn=1.813959,4.916382&z=8>

It looks like about 225 miles round trip.  Should take most of the day.  We will wing it on eating, depending on where we are at at the time when our stomachs start to growl.

All Chapters and guests are welcome to ride with us.  We don't care what you ride, just come.

Debbie and I get back from a week in Cancun on Saturday the 28th.  Unless something interrupts that, I should be able to support leading that ride on Sunday the 29th.  However, being as forgetful as I am, someone will probably need to call me on Saturday night and remind me to show up. ??? ??? ::) ::) ;) ;) 8) 8) 8) 8)  (too many Cervezas)

When can discuss how we want the ride to go at one of our meetings, (shoot down there and cruise back, or cruise down and shoot back).

Bump  ;D

Just wanted to bring your attention to the planned Memorial Day ride.  I have my request in for a sunny warm day. But, remember, we ride rain or shine because our veterans paid no attention to the weather as they served to make us free.

Make it if you can.  That is all we can ask.  The weather for Memorial Day week-end looks good at this point, but you never know.  These weather forecasters might just be trying to tease us.  Keep your fingers crossed.

Remember, we will ride down there regardless of the weather, unless it is really bad like they saw in North Minneapolis tonight.  I hope all of our members were ok during this storm.  If it doesn't dry up soon, I will have to bail the front yard and everything else.  I think I am beginning to grow webed feet and hands.

Looks like Sunday may be a good day for a ride.  Keep your fingers crossed.   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I hope to see a lot of our members and guests on this ride.  Duane will lead and I will have something to read at some point in our walk around the memorial.  Where we eat is still open, but rest assured, it will happen.
