I'm still battling allergies, but if my eyes aren't swollen shut in the morning, I'll be at Tousley

Well, I made it back, got to the house about 9:15pm.  Unfortunately, I left the sun and 90 degree weather back in Cancun.  I'll be at Tousley about 7:45.  Don't leave without me.

Good pictures Rich, thanks for sharing.

I must say, again, how much I appreciated the amount of people who turned out for this ride.  The Veterans Memorial Park was outstanding.  Thanks, Chappy, for leading this ride.  An excellent job.  I trust everyone had a good time and can appreciate our fallen veterans even more.  Nice to see others from 404 and 292 too.

This was sent to me by our Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient, Eagle Bob.....

The Final Inspection

By an unknown author

The Soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining,
Just as brightly as his brass..
'Step forward now, Soldier ,
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?'
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
'No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked a lot of overtime,
When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear..
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears

If you've a place for me here, Lord,
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand.

There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the Soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

'Step forward now, you Soldier,
You've borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell.'

What a great ride with good friends and Brothers In Arms. Thanks for setting the ride up Pat and Chappy for leading it and Ole for being tail gunner, boring position but necessary. This ride today is what I have been needing for a long time, I lost allot of stress today, Thanks All.

Thanks for sharing those pictures, Tulip, glad you and James are with us.  I hope James gets his wiring problem figured out for the next ride.

I am glad you and James made it home OK. Please let James know his tail lights were out when you passed Jimbo and I on 61.
Pat and Chappy great ride with Great Friends Thanks for the ride.
As Tail Gunner every one did a great job with formation and spacing during this ride. Was fun to see every one going up and down the hills.

It was great to see such a big turnout for the ride.  Debbie and I pretty much ran out of steam by the time we made it home.  I was really looking forward to long ride.  I was definitely "ride deprived".  Here is a link to the photos we took. . .

Great pictures and good memories for a good Vets Memorial Ride.  After two days of riding over 480 miles, Kathy and I were a bit wiped out by the time we got home just as a brief, light rain was starting.  Thanks to Chappy, Pat, Cliff and everyone for another great day of riding.  (And ya really gotta think about who you put up front for guiding the detour around a parade route!  I mean - who was that guy??  :P :-[ :o)

I can't quite remember his name, but I think his initials were G.P.S. or something like that.  Great job Alan. . .
