Crusin' for St. Jude
« on: April 30, 2011, 10:38:03 PM »
Please note:  This ride has been moved to the 25th of June.  It was originally scheduled in May.

Eagle Bob has set up a Cruisin' for St. Jude event and the date has been set as Saturday, June 25th. This will raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"It is only through volunteers like you that St. Jude can continue to save the lives of children all over the world.  St. Jude is proud to be one of the world's premier pediatric cancer hospitals and was recently named the top children's cancer hospital in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.  St. Jude is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatments that are not covered by insurance. No child is ever denied treatment because of the family's inability to pay. We share our research and protocols with physicians and hospitals worldwide. Working together, our physicians and scientists have pioneered treatments that have pushed the survival rate for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), the most common form of childhood cancer, from 4 percent in 1962 to ninety-four percent today."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look for more info to come on this. Let us know what help you need for this worthy cause, Bob!

This ride date is coming up soon so I will post the current plan.  I will lead a ride leaving from Waldoch at 9:30am.  It won't be a long or fast ride - near the 125 mile mark.  We will meander on several new roads along lakes in MN and WI.  We will end at Tousley for an early afternoon lunch. :)

More details later from me about the ride, or Bob about the event...

(There is an opportunity for an afternoon ride after lunch.  I can only offer to lead a fast freeway ride southwest to ValleyFair to join the rest of my family who will have an unfair head start on the coasters and mini donuts! :( :P)

The weather is looking good for this Saturday's ride!  I'm hoping to see many of you at Waldoch at 9:00am.  Bob and I will be doing the final pre-ride on Friday if anyone wants to join us.  If you cannot make the ride Saturday but would still like to help contribute to St. Judes for this event, please contact Bob to coordinate.  Thanks to everyone for whatever help you can offer, or just join us for a great ride!

I want to encourage everyone, who can, to make this ride.  Alan and Bob are doing a bang up job of arranging this ride.  I can't attend, but my donation is in to Bob.

The weather is shaping up to be a very good day on Saturday.  After this wet week, it will be good for your sole to get out and ride.

I hope a lot of people show up for this ride, the weather looks great and it is for a good cause.

Following Alan and Eagle Bob will be a great experience.  At least they won't get lost like your president.

Ride safe and have fun.

Don't forget to bring your donation packets and give them to Bob on that day.  Thanks.

I don't think I will be riding this weekend. My leg is still sore and I do not want to bump it or do something to make it worse. :'( :'( ::) ???
