Minnesota Motorcyclist Riding to benefit the Minnesota Veterans Homes
Registration: 9:00 - 11:45am
From: Elk River/Rogers VFW Post 5518, 7350 Quaday Ave NE, Otsego-Between Rogers and Elk River, just off Highway 101 at 72nd St. NE

Ride: 12:00 Noon Sharp!
To: Grand Casino Mille Lacs, Onamia, MN
Cost: $10.00 donation per person - includes a coupon for use at the casino

I would be happy to lead everyone from Tousley to the VFW Post in Otsego. We could meet at 7:45am and Kick stand up at 8 or 8:15am. I can put togather a short ride there or a direct one.

I stoped by the VFW last night so I now know where it is. There was not any activity at 7PM, Not sure why. I will now put together a route from Tousley. Meet at 7:45AM with kick stands up at 8:15AM.

Hope to see a lot of bikes from our MN Chapters on this ride. Keeping my fingers crossed on the weather. This Spring has been frustrating to say the least.

Looks like I'll finally be able to make this one! Between the crummy weather and all my other commitments with work and kids, I don't think I'm going to get enough miles on the bike to warrant an oil change this year.

None of us can make all the rides, make what you can. The weather looks ideal for a Sunday Veterans Benefit ride. I'll meet everyone at Tousley's at 7:45am. I may be a little sleepy eyed, having worked till midnight, but I'll be there.

I think I'll ride my Big Dog on this one. He is feeling much better now.

Your donation made it and they said thanks. Thanks for stopping by this morning at Tousley's. Too bad you couldn't go, it was certainly worth the trip. What a fabulous day!!!!!!

They estimated about 300 bikes (of all kinds, I might add). Steve Flom, me and Rich and Glenda were the only ones from our group. Met a lot of great people. I tell you, these motorcycle people are a nice bunch.

The bikes must have strechted some 3 miles. When we made it to the Casino, they let us have the entire top floor of the parking garage. Quite a sight. Ate at the buffet with a discounted coupon from the Casino. Along the way, people would wave and cheer as we went by. This ride was very well organized (they have been doing it for some 20 plus years, I guess). Top notch planning. Police escorts, road guards at every intersection. Brought tears to my eyes, all those vets and non vets supporting a very good cause.

Now here is the kicker...... I was up front leading! That's right, me. If it hadn't have been for the lead van, we most certainly would have gotten lost. By the way, my Big Dog got 50mpg going up and 55mpg coming back. Not bad, if I do say so myself.

Thanks to Rich and Glenda for leading from Tousley's to the VFW in Elk River. Nice to see Steve on two wheels too. Again, what a fabulous day.

Pat I am glad you had a good time ! Like I said I have rode this ride a number of times and all the riders are good people to ride with. I was sick most of the day

Felling better now not sure what it was but got lots of sleep today. Thanks for putting in my donation.
