For those planning to attend the 3rd Annual RFTC ride on Aug. 20th, below is a link to the Google Map of the route.

I also have a Garmin GPS file that I can email to anyone that would like it. I was unable to post it here.

I was trying to work my "western suburb" run down to Henderson, MN into my schedule.  This "Ride for the Cure" takes many of the same roads and some new ones I haven't been on.  If anyone is interested, I'll lead a group to this event and we can all hang together.  We could meet at the Holiday Station on Hwy 96 and 35W in Blaine.  Let me know and I'll set up a time.

Chappy there was talk of people doing this ride when do you want to meet? You said hwy 96 and 35w is that blaine, I thought it was Shoreview. Maybe I am thinking of the wrong place.

Blaine. . . Shoreview. . . might even be Moundsview (except the wrong side of the freeway :P).  Just wanted to designate it's not White Bear Lake on 35E.  Let me figure out what time to meet and post it.

Registration is at 11:00, we could do kickstands up at 10:30 and be fine.  I'm trying to see if Waldoch can put a rear tire on Saturday morning in that short a time.

It's difficult to do any bike maintainence when you're not in town during the week.  Maybe I could find some volunteers to run my bike there during the week.   ;D ;D ;D

Chappy did you find anyone to take your bike up? Where do you live? If you would trust me to ride your bike I may be able to help. If waldock does not open tell 10:00 it would be hard to get a tire on and get to the meeting place by 10:30.

I can shuttle a rider for a dropoff - either by bike or car.  Will you pick up your bike on Saturday morning or do you need it returned before then?

There you go Chappy, members stepping up to help fellow members.

I highly recommend people making this ride for the cure.  Looks to be a fine weather day for it too.  I can't attend, but that doesn't stop the 444 faithful from showing up and supporting this cause.

Tim sent me this Garmin GPS file (RFTC2011.gdb).  Right click and choose "Save Target As..." to save this file.  Tim and I both use Garmin MapSource to create and load routes to any Garmin GPSr (Nuvi, eTrex, ...).  It loaded fine into my eTrex Legend HCx.  If you have any questions, just ask!

Thanks Tim!

Thanks everyone for stepping up.  Sorry I wasn't on line last night to respond.  I worked until 7:45 last night and went to dinner with our CEO.  Too late to log on.  I had three different customers in all day today and was hardly at my desk.

Here's what came about.  I called John Waldoch to see if he could help since Debbie was off on Wednesday.  He came by with a trailer after making a delivery near Northtown and picked the bike up for me.  Unfortunately, they do not have a Metzler white wall in stock.  They may not beable to get one in time.  However, I will pick up my bike on Saturday morning to make the ride for the cure.  It'll be good to go on a ride led by others (outside our group) to see what it is like.

Sorry for bailing out of the ride for the cure.  Ole, Bear, and I opted out of the event and went on our own ride down to Henderson using the old West Suburban route I took a couple of years ago.  Ole and Bear both said they saw Ranger & GW on the road down to Henderson with one of the larger groups.  We were already on the way back north for a stop at the Minnetonka Drive Inn for some ice cream (poor Ole).  Thanks guys for taking me out for a little cleansing of the mind.
