Western Suburbs Cruise

I would like to lead the Western Cruise ride again.  However, since I put it on the Sunday after Debbie's birthday (August 5th), we need to head home early for family.  Rather than ride all the way to Henderson this year, we'll stop at Harvey's Bar in Carver, MN for lunch (we stopped there before to eat), then bactrack to the Minnetonka Drive-In in Mound, MN for dessert.  Then I'll take us out Cty Rd 15 along the shore of Lake Minnetonka and head for the freeways.   Everyone is free to split off and take whatever freeway route they wish.  I take 394 east to Hwy 100 north to 694 east.

Meet at the Holiday Gas Station off I94 and the Maple Grove Parkway Exit (turn left over the fwy).
Time:  Meet 10:00, Kickstands up at 10:30 (I'll be there at 10:15 after church).

I just verified the information I got from Rich.  Hwy 50 (Rebecca Park Rd) from Rockford to Delano is closed until Sep. 11.  No problem, just a short boring 3-4 mile detour around to Delano.  Then all is good.

I couldn't get up early to go on the schedule ride today, so I perode this ride, very nice route. I hope they get the road construction on county road 50/ Rebecca park trail finished south of State Hwy 55 to county road 17. Nice ride all in all.

Hey Rich,

Welcome back by the way.  Do me a favor.  Two weeks ago, I rode Hwy 50 from Rockford to Delano to see where the road closure was.  It wasn't really closed.  Just north of Delano, they had a single lane section with traffic lights at either end.  Would you check it on your ride home one day this week and let me know if it would still work to ride through on Sunday?
