444 Dec. Meeting

444 December Meeting notice:

Where:  Tousley's Motor Sports
When:  December 15, 2012
Time:  11:00am

We will have our elections for the Chapter (Patrick McNeil and Kathy Wilson are running the the VP spot) and talk about other issues as well.  Feel free to bring a  little something to eat, but a full bore potluck will wait until the ALL CHAPTER get-to-gether in January.  

Also, bring your total mileage to this meeting.  The Monkey Butt award will be given out.

I look forward to the meeting but I would like people to get me their ending milage by the end of November so I can put things together.

I get home after 26 hours of traveling back from China on Friday the 14th around 6:30pm.  I hope I can stay awake for the meeting.

Just a reminder to get your milage totals to Bear for the "Monkey Butt" award.  He needs them before the Dec. meeting. 

Also, we need your attendance at the meeting in Dec. for our elections.  Plus, we would just like to see your smiling faces again.

sorry Becky and myself will not be able to make it on the fact that my mothers 80TH BIRTHDAY is being celebrated at the crystal VFW. who can we let know who we want to vote fore?

Don't worry about the voting, there is now only one candidate for the VP slot.

Doug and I have became "Officially Engaged" last week. I feel I will not be able to devote the time I feel necessary for the position during this coming year. After discussing with Doug our upcoming plans, I decided to withdraw my VP nomination and remain as your LOS rep.
I love all you guys and look forward to the future of our Chapter.

Wanting to know if YOU want to continue with the ornament exchange this year? I wanted to do an Adopt a Soldiers Family for the holidays, but it takes a bit more planning than when I thought of it in Oct.

This past week, I met Carroll Partridge, an American Legion Commander for the 4th District. We were discussing the "Shop, Ship & Share" project their district is working on. Right now it is a monetary donation they are seeking to help ship 1000 boxes (approx $13/box to ship) overseas to our Service members by Dec. 8th. He said they usually have a large number of packages that don't get (or delayed) shipped because of funding shortages. My thought was, if we donate the money spent on the ornaments, it would help them ship the packages that don't make it.

Let me know what YOU think of this or If you have another IDEA,Please say so!

How come the 444 meetings end up on the same days as other things I want to do??  I can't be in two places at once!  The Wreaths Across America wreath setting event at Fort Snelling is the 15th at 11:00.  Everyone helps place wreaths on fallen soldier's graves.  The wreaths are supplied. Could we all go do that and then have a meeting after?

You should put these events on our Chapter calendar and/or post in the forum. I think it would be great to do when we can.
Speaking for myself, we are doing a family Christmas at 2 pm on Dec. 15th, so I can only attend one gathering, whatever the decision is.
