Check the starter relay they have a tendency to go bad because of the location

starter relay would be an easy fix but when a relay goes bad the starter won't engage at all from past experience. The starter want to turn over but seems like it just does not have enough juice behind it. I'll look at the relay and take it out and see if there is a way it can be tested. I can't afford to just throw parts at it.

If the starter is engaging and not able to roll the engine its probably your decompression soilinoid.

On my bike its located on the right side of the bike in the front cover by my foot.

There should be a plastic or chrome cover over it. Take that cover off you will see a motor looking doo hicky

Take the doomahauger off and you will see a spoon looking thingamabob that's your decompression arm mover that up and down and attempt to start the bike then..

Hope this helps you

Melissa had problems with her old motor when it would act up you couldn't even push start her bike. I figured out how to make hers work...

Replaced relay and same thing happens turns over for a second and once it hits a compression stroke stops dead. Now does the 1300 on the Venture have a decompression solenoid?
